Where Bihar publishes FIRs
Bihar Police publish FIR records through the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), Bihar, whose public search lives at scrb.bihar.gov.in. FIRSetu searches the same published records across all 50 districts and 1,383 police stations, and hands you the official PDF exactly as the bureau published it.
Bihar's published records are searchable without creating an account — on FIRSetu and on the SCRB portal alike.
Searching on FIRSetu
The quickest route is the Bihar directory, which lists every district and its police stations:
- 1Open the Bihar directory and choose your district, then the police station where the FIR was registered.
- 2Pick a date range — the last 15, 30, or 90 days — or enter the FIR number and year if you know it.
- 3Matching records appear with the sections charged. Open any published FIR to read it and download the official PDF.
Using the SCRB portal directly
If you prefer the official source, the SCRB Bihar search page is at scrb.bihar.gov.in/FIRiew.aspx. It asks for the district, police station, and a date range or FIR number — the same inputs FIRSetu uses.
Portal layouts change from time to time. If a label on the page does not match what is described here, follow the portal's own labels; the information it asks for does not change.
What is and is not published
Under the Supreme Court's directions in Youth Bar Association of India v. Union of India (2016), FIRs are to be uploaded within twenty-four hours of registration, extendable to forty-eight and at most seventy-two hours where connectivity is a genuine problem. Sensitive categories, including sexual offences, offences under the POCSO Act, and matters relating to insurgency and terrorism, are excluded from publication.
A record you cannot find online may therefore still exist. It may be in an excluded category, or it may not have been uploaded yet.
