About
FIRSetu is an independent service that helps you find FIR information state police already publish online, without learning a new government portal every time.
An FIR, or First Information Report, is the record police create when they first log a complaint about a possible crime. Several Indian states publish these online as public information. In principle anyone can read them.
In practice, reading one means finding the right state portal, working out its form, guessing at date windows, and repeating the whole sequence every time you widen the search. Most people give up before the record appears. Not because it is hidden, but because the path to it is tedious.
FIRSetu is that path, shortened. You pick a police station and a stretch of time; we query the state's own site and show you what it publishes, with the original PDF one click away.
State, then district, then the police station whose records you want, plus a date range, either one of the quick ranges or your own dates.
Your search goes to our API, which queries the state's own public site. Long date ranges are split into smaller windows because the portals cap how much can be requested at once.
Records from each window are combined, duplicates removed, and everything sorted newest first before you see it. If part of the search failed, we say so instead of quietly showing you less.
The PDF is fetched from the source only when you ask for it, and it is the file the portal returned, not a copy we generated.
FIRSetu is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any police department or government authority.
We do not create, issue, edit or certify FIR records. The official record always stays with the police portal it came from.
An FIR marks the start of an investigation. It is not a conviction and is not proof that anyone committed an offence.
If a record affects you, speak to a qualified lawyer and rely on the official copy from the relevant authority.
If a search returns nothing, we say nothing was published. If it fails, we say it failed. We never pad results or invent progress.
What you download is what the portal served. We add no watermark, no edits, no commentary.
These are public services with real limits. We bound how much we request at once rather than hammering them.
No account, no email, no payment, and no personal search history kept against you.
