FIRSetu does not create, issue, modify, certify or verify FIR records. Every record shown was published by a state police portal, and the PDF you download is the file that portal returned. If FIRSetu and the source ever disagree, the source is correct.

A First Information Report is the record police create when they first log a complaint about a possible crime. It marks the start of an investigation. It is not a conviction, a judgment, or proof that anyone committed an offence.

Treating an FIR as proof of guilt is both factually wrong and potentially defamatory.

Coverage depends entirely on what each state portal publishes and on that portal being reachable. Absence of a record in FIRSetu does not mean no such record exists.

We cannot correct or remove a record at the source. Requests about the content of an FIR must go to the police authority that published it. If a record is corrected or withdrawn there, FIRSetu reflects that once its cache expires.
