Privacy Policy

You can search FIRSetu without an account, without giving us your name, and without us building a profile of you. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising trackers on the document viewer, and we do not keep a personal history of what you searched for.

FIRSetu is not a government website and is not connected to any police department or government body. We help you find FIR information that state police already publish online. The official record always stays with the police portal it came from.

• Search parameters: The state, district, police station and date range you search are sent to our API so it can query the source. They are used to run your search and are not tied to your identity.
• Technical request data: Standard server information such as IP address, user agent, timestamp and a generated request ID. This is used to operate the service, diagnose failures and prevent abuse.
• Cached public records: FIR information returned by a state portal may be cached briefly to reduce load on that portal. This is public record data, not personal data about you.

• No account is required, so we hold no name, email or password for public search.
• No automatic personal search history is kept against you.
• No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
• No payment details, the public search is free.

FIRSetu caches the district and police station list for a state in your browser's local storage, along with its version number, so the form loads quickly on your next visit. This never leaves your device and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

FIR records shown by FIRSetu are published by state police portals as public information. We do not create, edit, verify or remove them. If you believe a record is wrong, or should not be public, that has to be raised with the police authority that published it. We have no ability to change the source.

If a record is removed at the source, it stops appearing in FIRSetu once our cache expires.

We do not sell or rent data. FIRSetu runs on Cloudflare infrastructure, which processes requests on our behalf in order to serve the site. Your search reaches the relevant state police portal because that is the only way to answer it, that portal has its own policies, which we do not control.

FIRSetu is a general public records tool and is not directed at children.

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use FIRSetu after a change means you accept the updated policy.
